Tarlac State University honored its employees and retirees during the Service Awards 2026, recognizing teaching and non-teaching personnel who have dedicated ten to forty years of service on October 15, 2026, held at the TSU Gymnasium.

The service awards aim to highlight work anniversaries and long-term tenure of TSU employees while also inviting retired employees to an event where they can reconnect with their former colleagues.

Among the awardees was TSU President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza, who was recognized for his 15 years of service to the university.

"Sa tatlumpu’t lima, apatnapu, at higit pa, nandito na po kayo — Tarlac College of Technology pa lang po tayo, bago pa naging university. You did not just witness this university become a university; you carried it across the line," Pres. Mendoza said.

Awards and recognition were also conferred on retired and former university officials, posthumous awardees, and non-permanent employees who had rendered 15 or more years of service to the university.

Mr. Reynaldo R. Santillan was one of those posthumously recognized for his 17 years of service to the university as an Administrative Aide IV. His brother, Mr. Daniel R. Santillan, accepted the award.

"Magkakaibang bilang, iisa ang dangal. Different numbers, one duty. Walang permanent na item,  pero permanent sa pagdating sa trabaho. Walang item, pero may puso. At sa pamilya ng ating mga awardee, kayo po ang nagpahiram ng kanilang oras sa Tarlac State University. Mga gabi, mga Sabado, mga okasyong hindi nila napuntahan. This award is yours as much as theirs," President Mendoza said in his speech.

Special Awards were also given to the Fifth TSU President, Dr. Myrna Mallari, now a Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and to the Sixth TSU President, Dr. Arnold Velasco, Professor VI, College of Engineering.

Moreover, offices and employees recognized by reputable institutions were also awarded such as Quality Assurance Director Dr. Henry D. Rufino, Dr. Maria Teresa C. Agustin, Assoc. Prof. Elvira B. Mercado, and the Office of Finance - Accounting Unit.

Meanwhile, Professional Board and BAR examination incentives were given to Atty. Brigido B. Corpuz, Ed.D. and Atty. Jeric A. Villanueva.

TSU Employees who have rendered 10 to 15 years of service receive an 18k gold TSU pendant; those with 20 years of service receive an 18k gold TSU ring; those with 25 years receive an 18k gold TSU bracelet; and those with 30 years receive an 18k gold TSU necklace. Finally, an 18k gold TSU pendant is awarded for 35 years of service, while an 18k gold TSU necklace with pendant is given to those who have reached 40 years of service.

The event was organized by the Office of Human Resource Development and Management Office as part of TSU’s 120th Founding Anniversary and 37th Universityhood celebration.
