Tarlac State University is one of the recipients of the Commission on Higher Education's International Ranking Awards during the ICONS Awards 2024 tonight (December 16) at the PICC in Pasay City.

The university was awarded for ranking 279th in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), marking TSU's "enduring commitment towards internationalization of Philippine higher education and exemplar performance."

Office of Quality Assurance Director Dr. Niño B. Corpuz and Office of International Affairs and Linkages OIC Director Prof. Maria Tiara Fatima F. Galang received the award on behalf of TSU.

"This award will contribute to the alignment and parallelism with CHED's internationalization (agenda) and the sustainability of global quality standards," Director Corpuz said in an interview with OPA.

The Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability or ICONS Awards, organized by the CHED International Affairs Service, is an avenue to recognize HEIs that championed the global reputation of Philippine Higher Education through commendable performance in recognized international rankings and ratings.

This is the third time that TSU received an ICONS award.
