Two hundred and twenty faculty and staff of Tarlac State University attended the opening ceremony of the SCUFAR-III games earlier today (August 20) at the Pampanga State Agricultural University in Magalang, Pampanga.
The State Colleges and Universities Faculty Association of Region III (SCUFAR-III) is an annual sports and cultural activity for teaching and non-teaching employees from Central Luzon's state universities and colleges, bearing the theme "Unity in Diversity through Sportural Events" for this year.
With the theme reinforcing inclusivity and collaboration, TSU Federated Faculty Union President Prof. Winifredo Luis is optimistic about the possible outcome of the events.
"We are looking forward na magiging okay ang results. Hopefully, maging successful ito and I'm positive lalo na with the help of the athletes and delegates. I know this is just an activity to take us out of our usual daily work pero do your best. Kung manalo man tayo, that's good. Kung hindi man, that's okay as long as we participate well and we spread the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship," Prof. Luis said in an interview.
The faculty union president thanked the university administration for supporting the TSU delegation.
"Sa ating administration, thank you sa support na ibinibigay sa'tin. We hope that you'll continue to support us with the next SCUFAR activities," Prof. Luis added.
The primary objective of the SCUFAR-III is to unite SUCs in Central Luzon that will transcend beyond this event. (jlmm-OPA)
