Tarlac State University welcomed the new year with affirmation and gratitude through the conduct of a flag-raising ceremony earlier today (January 4, 2022) at the TSU Main Campus and San Isidro Campus.
The limited face-to-face gathering was led by the Office of Public Affairs in the Main Campus and the College of Computer Studies in San Isidro.
In her message, TSU president Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the TSU community .
"Life is short... We must always be ready when we are called by God. And how do we make ourselves ready? [We] do our job on earth with a heart – always. So sa inyo pong lahat, maraming-maraming salamat. Salamat sa inyong buhay, salamat sa inyong kagalingan, salamat sa inyong dedikasyon, salamat sa inyong kasipagan, at salamat dahil pinapasaya niyo din ako," President Mallari said.
Afterwards, University Medical Officer Dr. Rommel Hernandez gave a status update of the city's COVID-19 situation. He also reminded everyone to keep one's health in mind and urged all to get vaccinated and take booster shots.
Meanwhile, three TSU employees took their oath at the San Isidro Campus on the first working day of the year.
These are Mr. Joshua Cawigan, a faculty member of the College of Public Administration and Governance; Mr. Jasper Yauder of the Budget Management Unit; and Ms. Juliet Elaine Acuña of the Procurement Unit.
