Six faculty members of Tarlac State University took their oath earlier this afternoon (December 6) to formally receive their re-classification into the professorial rank.
Dr. Cynthia Quiambao, newly promoted Professor IV from the College of Teacher Education, tearfully said that she had long waited for this promotion.
"Now, we will be mature enough to embrace it (professorial rank), to serve TSU, and also to help others na makarating kung saan 'yung kinalalagyan namin ngayon," she said.
Aside from Dr. Quiambao, other faculty members who reached the professorial rank for the NBC 461 Cycle 8 are Dr. Marie Paz Angeles (Professor IV), Dr. Jhonel Panlilio (Professor IV), Dr. Rowena Ramos (Professor V), Dr. Lea Milan (Professor III), and Dr. Leo Piao (Professor I).
University President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco presided over the ceremony held at the TSU Hotel in Lucinda Campus.
According to Pres. Velasco, this is a "well-deserved promotion" for the faculty members, but it is not an easy job.
"There will be many challenges. You really have to do many researches and [have] sleepless nights," he said.
He also hoped that they will continue to show humility as well as help other faculty members, especially those in the lower rank.
